Profiles, following and friends

Choose anyone’s name or picture, on an event’s guest list, a post or in a chat, to open their profile. A profile shows:

  • their name, username, bio and social links,
  • how many Friends, Following and Followers they have. Choose a number to see the people,
  • likes and saves their posts have received, and how many events they’ve submitted to Explore,
  • tabs for their Events and Posts,
  • on someone else’s profile, Events you’re both going to.

To see and edit your own, choose My profile from the menu under your profile picture.

Open their profile and choose Follow. Their posts appear in your Circles → Following feed. Choose Unfollow to stop.

GatherEasy has no separate friend requests. When you follow someone and they follow you back, you’re friends. To stop being friends, unfollow them. You’ll still be friends again if you both follow each other later.

Choose Start a DM on their profile to open a direct message. See Chats.

On the profile of someone you follow, there’s a Personal note box. Write how you met or anything you want to remember (up to 1,000 characters) and choose Save note. Only you can see it.

The quickest way to connect with someone you’ve just met:

  1. Open My profile and choose the QR button (My profile QR).
  2. The other person opens Scan QR code from their profile menu and points their camera at your code.
  3. Your profile opens on their phone, ready to follow.

Scan QR code also has a My QR button, so you can show your code from the same screen.

Scanning needs camera permission and a secure (https://) connection.

Your own profile’s Events tab includes My calendar, which only you can see. See Calendars.

See Profile and settings.
