Cancel a registration and refunds

  1. Open the event page.
  2. Under No longer able to attend?, choose Cancel your registration.
  3. Read the summary and confirm.

Your ticket stops working as soon as you cancel. If the event has a waitlist, your place may go to the next person.

To withdraw a request that the host hasn’t approved yet, choose Cancel request. To leave a waitlist, choose Leave waitlist.

When you cancel a paid ticket, you’re asking the host for a refund. The host reviews every refund request and decides how much to return.

  1. Choose Cancel your registration. The dialog shows what you paid and The host’s refund policy, if the group has written one.
  2. Choose Cancel and request a refund.
  3. You’re notified when the host decides.

The host can:

  • refund you in full,
  • refund part of what you paid, or
  • decline the refund. Declining is final.

Your place is given up when you cancel, whatever the host decides about the refund.

Refunds go back to the payment method you used. Most refunds show up within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. Sometimes a refund waits:

  • “Your refund is waiting for the original payment to clear.” The original payment hasn’t settled yet. It completes on its own once it does.
  • “Your refund is waiting for the host to provide funds.” The host needs to add money to their payout account. Contact the host for an update.

You’re notified straight away. Paid tickets are refunded in full when a host cancels an event or removes you from the guest list. Occasionally the refund waits for funds, as described above.

You can’t change the ticket type or price of an existing registration, and you can’t transfer a ticket to someone else. Cancel your registration and let the other person register themselves.
