# Find a venue

> Search venues by name, city, capacity, layout and facilities, compare spaces and contact the venue.

Looking for a place to host? The **Venues** tab in **Explore** lets you search spaces for your event.

## Search venues

1. Open **Explore** and choose **Venues**.
2. Choose the search button.
3. Fill in any of **Venue name (optional)**, **City (optional)** and **Capacity (optional)**, the number of people you're expecting.
4. Choose **Search**.

The results say how many venues were found. With no search, you'll see how many venues GatherEasy knows about.

## Filter

Choose the filter button to narrow results by:

- **Venue type**: **Cultural space**, **Hotel**, **Restaurant**, **Coworking** or **Outdoor**.
- **Neighbourhood**.
- **Distance from me (km)**: 5, 10, 25 or 50. Allow location access when asked.
- **Layout**: **Theatre**, **Classroom**, **Boardroom**, **Reception**, **Standing** or **Dinner**.
- **Required facilities**: **Projector**, **Accessible**, **Wifi** or **Stage**.

Switch to **map** to see venues on a map.

## The venue page

Open a venue to see:

- **Event spaces**, with **Layout capacities** for each space,
- **Facilities**, **Amenities** and **Add-ons**,
- **Pricing**, including any minimum fee. Prices marked **Price unverified** haven't been confirmed by the venue,
- **Availability**, **Booking** (for example **Instant booking** or approval required) and **Cancellation** terms,
- **Map and arrival**, with **Public transport** and **Parking**,
- **External reviews** and ratings from GatherEasy organisers.

Some details may say **Still to verify**. Always confirm availability and pricing with the venue directly.

## Contact a venue

Choose **Contact venue** to see the venue's **website**, **email** and **phone**. GatherEasy doesn't book venues for you. Arrange the booking with the venue itself.

## Rate a venue

After you've used a venue, help other organisers:

1. Open the venue page and go to **Rate this venue**.
2. Choose a star rating and add a **Comment**: what should other event organisers know?
3. Choose **Save rating**.

You can **Edit review** or **Delete review** later.

## Share a venue

Use **Share venue** or **Copy venue link** to send a venue to your co-organisers.

## Use the venue for your event

When you create the event, search for the venue's name or address in **Location**. See [Create an event](https://help.gathereasy.rsvp/hosting/create-an-event.md#location).
