# Cancel, clone or repeat an event

> Cancel an event and refund guests, or reuse an event's details for the next one.

## Clone an event

Running something again? Open the event's management page, go to **More** and choose **Clone Event**. GatherEasy creates a new **draft** with the same details, called "_title_ (copy)".

Open the draft, change the title, date and anything else, then choose **Publish**.

:::tip
An AI assistant connected to GatherEasy can also create a repeating series, for example "every first Thursday for the next six months". See [What you can do with an assistant](https://help.gathereasy.rsvp/ai-assistants/what-you-can-do.md).

## Cancel an event

1. Open the management page and go to **More**.
2. Under **Cancel event**, choose **Cancel event**.
3. Read the summary and confirm.

When you cancel:

- Everyone registered is **notified**.
- Registration closes, and the event page shows **Event cancelled**.
- **Paid tickets are refunded in full.** You cover the Stripe processing fees that Stripe keeps. If your Stripe balance is too low, refunds wait until you add funds. See [Keep funds for refunds](https://help.gathereasy.rsvp/hosting/sell-tickets.md#keep-funds-for-refunds).
- Events **without paid orders are permanently deleted**.
- Events **with paid orders are kept**, for refunds and financial records only.

If someone is in the middle of paying when you cancel, permanent deletion waits up to an hour, until their checkout can no longer complete.

:::caution
Cancelling can't be undone. If you only need to change the date or place, edit the event instead. Guests are notified of the change.
:::

## Hide an event without cancelling

To stop new people finding an event without cancelling it, change its visibility to **Unlisted** or **Invite-only** with **Edit Event**.
