# What is GatherEasy?

> A quick tour of GatherEasy and the four main areas of the app.

GatherEasy is a place to find gatherings worth going to, host your own and keep the communities around them together. Guests use it to discover events, register and keep their tickets. Hosts use it to publish events, sell tickets, manage guest lists and check people in. Groups give a community a shared home for its events and conversations.

GatherEasy runs in your web browser at [gathereasy.rsvp](https://gathereasy.rsvp) on phones, tablets and computers. You can also [install it on your home screen](https://help.gathereasy.rsvp/getting-started/install-the-app.md) so it opens like an app.

## You can look around without an account

Anyone can browse **Explore** and open public event, group and venue pages. You need to [sign in](https://help.gathereasy.rsvp/getting-started/sign-in.md) to register for events, create your own events, join groups, post, chat or follow people.

## Finding your way around

On a phone, the bar at the bottom of the screen takes you to the main areas. On a larger screen they're in the header.

| Area        | What it's for                                                                                                                                                   |
| ----------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Circles** | Stories, recaps and ideas posted by the community. Switch between people you follow, a wider Discover feed and posts near you. See [Circles](https://help.gathereasy.rsvp/social/circles.md). |
| **Events**  | Your own events: the ones you host and the ones you're going to, split into upcoming and past. Start a new event from here with **Create**.                     |
| **Explore** | Search for events, venues and groups, as a list or on a map.                                                                                                    |
| **Chats**   | Direct messages, group chats and the chat for each event you're going to. See [Chats](https://help.gathereasy.rsvp/social/chats.md).                                                          |

Your profile picture in the top corner opens a menu with:

- **My profile**: your public profile, your posts and your personal calendar.
- **Scan QR code**: open someone's profile or a ticket by scanning its QR code.
- **Account settings**: your profile details, language, theme, time zone and notifications.
- **Need support?**: report a problem or contact the support team.
- **Sign out**.

The bell icon opens your **notifications**, including event invitations you can accept or decline.

## Gabby, the GatherEasy assistant

Gabby is GatherEasy's AI agent. Inside the app, Gabby is still marked **Coming soon**. You can already use GatherEasy through an AI assistant you know, such as Claude or ChatGPT, by connecting it to GatherEasy. ## Languages

GatherEasy is available in English (UK), English (US), Nederlands and 简体中文. It picks a language from your browser, and you can change it any time in **Account settings → Preferences → Language**. This help site is available in English, Nederlands and 简体中文. Use the language menu at the top of any page.
