# Install GatherEasy on your phone or computer

> Add GatherEasy to your home screen or dock so it opens like an app and can send push notifications.

GatherEasy is a web app. You don't need an app store. Add it to your home screen or dock and it opens in its own window, without the browser's address bar. On iPhone and iPad, installing it is also what lets GatherEasy send push notifications.

## iPhone and iPad

1. Open [gathereasy.rsvp](https://gathereasy.rsvp) in **Safari**.
2. Tap the **Share** button.
3. Scroll down and tap **Add to Home Screen**, then **Add**.
4. Open GatherEasy from the new icon on your home screen.

On iPhone and iPad, push notifications only work when GatherEasy is opened from the home-screen icon (iOS 16.4 or later). After installing, open it from the icon and turn on notifications.

## Android

1. Open [gathereasy.rsvp](https://gathereasy.rsvp) in **Chrome**.
2. Tap the **⋮** menu.
3. Tap **Install app** or **Add to Home screen**, then confirm.

## Computer (Chrome, Edge and other Chromium browsers)

1. Open [gathereasy.rsvp](https://gathereasy.rsvp).
2. Click the install icon at the right of the address bar, or open the browser menu and choose **Install GatherEasy** (in Edge: **Apps → Install this site as an app**).

In Safari on a Mac, choose **File → Add to Dock**.

## Updates

GatherEasy updates itself. When a new version is ready you'll see "An update is available". Save anything you're working on, then choose **Reload**.
