**Explore** is where you discover what's on. It has three tabs: **Events**, **Venues** and **Groups**. You can browse it without signing in.

## Search for events

1. Open **Explore** and make sure the **Events** tab is selected.
2. Choose the search button (magnifying glass).
3. Type what you're looking for in **Search events and neighbourhoods…**, such as "jazz", "running club" or "De Pijp".
4. Optionally choose a **City**. Suggestions appear as you type.
5. Choose **Search**.

Results load as you scroll. When you reach "No more events to show", you've seen everything that matches. Events that have already finished aren't shown.

## Filter by category

Choose the filter button (sliders) and pick one or more categories, such as **Music**, **Tech**, **Food & Drink**, **Sports** or **Language**. A dot on the filter button means a filter is active. Choose a category again to remove it.

## Use the map

Switch between **list** and **map** with the toggle next to the filter button. The map shows where each event takes place. Online events have no pin.

## Events listed from other websites

Some events in Explore are listed from other websites, such as a venue's own site or another ticketing platform. Their cards say **Listed on** followed by the source. For these events:

- Registration and tickets are handled by the original site. Choose **View on** the source to register there.
- Choose **Interested** to save the event to **My Events** and your personal calendar. GatherEasy reminds you that you still need to register on the original site.
- Choose **You're interested** again to remove it.

## Submit an event you found elsewhere

If you know of an event that isn't on GatherEasy yet, you can add it to Explore so others can find it. You need to be signed in.

1. In **Explore → Events**, choose **+ Submit**.
2. Paste an HTTPS link to the event's original page on any website and choose **Continue**.
3. GatherEasy reads the page. This can take a minute or two, so keep the dialog open.
4. Check the details it found: **Title**, **Starts**, **Ends**, **Location**, **Organiser**, **Price** and **Description**. Correct anything that's wrong. If the page doesn't list a price, it defaults to Free.
5. Choose **Submit event**.

The event is added to Explore straight away. If it's already on GatherEasy, you're shown the existing event instead. Events you submit are counted on your profile.

## Find groups

The **Groups** tab in Explore lists groups you can join. Use the search button to find a group by name. See [Join and take part in groups](https://help.gathereasy.rsvp/groups/join-groups.md).

## Open an event

Choose any event card to open its event page. There you'll find the date and time, location and map, hosts, description, agenda, who's going and how to register. The time is shown in the event's time zone. If your device is in a different time zone, both are shown.
