# Profile and settings

> Edit your name, username, photo, bio and links, and choose your theme, language and time zone.

Open the menu under your profile picture and choose **Account settings**. Settings has three tabs: **Account**, **Preferences** and **Payment**.

## Your profile

On the **Account** tab, under **Your Profile**:

- **First Name** and **Last Name**: shown to hosts and other guests. Your display name can't be empty.
- **Profile Picture**: choose **Choose File** to upload a photo, or **Change File** to replace it.
- **Username**: 3–20 characters, using letters, numbers, periods or underscores. It must not already be taken.
- **Bio**: a short line about you.
- **Social Links**: Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn and your website. They appear as icons on your profile.

Choose **Save** when you're done.

## Theme

On **Preferences → Display**, choose **System** (follow your device), **Light** or **Dark**.

## Language

On **Preferences → Language**, choose **English (UK)**, **English (US)**, **Nederlands** or **简体中文**. The app switches straight away. Emails and notifications GatherEasy sends you use this language too.

## Time zone

On **Preferences → Timezone**, choose your time zone. It's used for new events you create and for showing times when you're in a different zone from an event.
